Ship Security Officer (SSO)

This course is specifically designed to meet the training needs of those individuals in charge of implementing a Marine Facility Security Plan. This course framework has been developed to meet the requirements of the ISPS Code for global standards of Port Facility Security Officer roles and responsibilities as set out in the guidelines of IMO Model Course 3.19.

Entry Requirements

• 12 months shipboard service in the capacity as Certificated Watchkeeping Officer or Certificated Watchkeeping Engineering Officer.
• Approved and valid medical fitness certificate issued by an approved Malaysia Marine Department medical practitioner and
• A valid Seafarer Identification Card.
