Acquired Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA)

Automatic Radar Plotting Aids (ARPA) – 4.5 days – FTF

The course provides training in theory and practical use of automatic radar plotting aids for officers in charge of a navigational watch on vessels equipped with ARPA. The training emphasis on radar observation and plotting meets the standards in Table A-II/1 of STCW 1978 including (2010 Manila Amendment) Section B-1/12.

Entry Requirements

• Officers in charge of navigational watches on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more
• Have acquired a sea time of 12 months.
• Have valid Seafarer Identity Card
• Have valid Medical Certificate issued by an accredited Medical Practitioner by Malaysia Marine Department
