The aims of the course is to fulfill the mandatory minimum standards of competence for seafarers at the management level. This is specified in the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) Code 1978 and 2010 Amendments, particularly Tables A-II/2 (Deck Officers at the Management Level) and A-III/2 (Engineer Officers at the Management Level).This is to ensure that management-level officers possess the knowledge, understanding, and proficiency (KUP) required for the function: Controlling the operation of the ship and caring for persons on board.

Entry Requirements

• 12 months shipboard service in the capacity as Certificated Watchkeeping Officer or Certificated Watchkeeping Engineering Officer.
• Approved and valid medical fitness certificate issued by an approved Malaysia Marine Department medical practitioner and
• A valid Seafarer Identification Card.
